David Carlson

David Carlson is an owner and co-founder of C.C. We Adapt, a peer-support and mentorship agency in the western region of Wisconsin. C.C. We Adapt contracts with Comprehensive Community Services and provides services in over 13 counties in western Wisconsin. David uses this business to continue the advocacy work he began at the ACLU of Wisconsin both in the lives of individuals, and at the local, county, and state levels.
David was formerly an ACLU of WI Smart Justice Regional Organizer, a campaign focused on reducing the U.S. jail and prison population by 50 percent and combating racial disparities in the criminal justice system.
David also served as an ACLU of WI Rights for All Regional Organizer, a position in which he was responsible for identifying, recruiting, and maintaining a team of individuals motivated to galvanize marginalized groups and equip them with the proper information and tools to exercise their rights to vote.
An Army veteran, David served two tours of duty in Iraq, where he received several honors and awards.
